It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I realize that most over-achieving families have had their trees up for days, if not weeks, but we just got around to ours this weekend. While it's true we've been busy, this is mostly because I'm terrified of what Gabriel is going to do to the tree (and everything on it and under it) once it goes up this year.
Once we got the tree out, Gabriel was thrilled. "Christmas tree! Yay! Is pretty!" While Michael and I fluffed all the branches, Gabriel alternated between sitting in my lap being my helper and playing in the tree box.
When were down to just the top part, Gabriel came trundling over to us, lugging the top of the tree. Being a Mom, my reaction was "Thank you honey." Being a big brother, Michael's reaction was "Let's have him put the top on." Being a Mom, my thought was "Oh, he's too little to manage that."
Well, shows what parents know...
