Since Gabriel is happily examining the corner of a blanket on the living room floor, I had a chance to mess with pictures from our trip to have his adenoids removed this morning. Everything went very well, and very quickly. The pediatric facility was fantastic and we had one dedicated nurse in pre-op and TWO in post-op.
Watching cartoons in the sunrise light before leaving the house this morning...

This is my choo-choo train!

The picture above was taken in the lobby of the surgicenter. The lobby itself was HUGE and there were several play areas. If you look behind him you'll see an alcove with a couch (yellow low thing on the left), chairs, table. I think there were maybe about sixteen of those lining both long walls of the lobby so that each family had a semi-private area to hang out in and call home. Oh, and yah... those are flowers on the halfwall dividing the alcoves.
Pre-op - hanging out with Dora. They supplied the DVD player. And the DVD.

Talking to the doctor and getting ready to go (about 9AM)

In the car, ready to go home. Stoned and puffy but have sippy cup will survive. (About 10:20AM)

Did I mention stoned?

The "something to increase his appetite" kicks in.... (about 12:00 noon)

Full. Pain-medicated... hanging out with his new friend. The star was a take-home present from the surgicenter. It has a cape. So it's a superstar, of course... just like their patients.
